She vaguely heard the knock through the haze of that place between sleep and awake. It really didn’t register. ‘Come in, the doors not locked’, she heard a man’s voice say. Trying hard to push through to the waking world, she realized that she was in a hotel room. Oh, yes, I’m at a conference she reminds herself, wait, there’s a man lying next to me. A little startled she realizes it’s Marc. Trying to shake the cobwebs out, she remembers that she and Marc had been talking about the presentation they were attending tomorrow. She was tired from travel and had lain down on the bed; apparently, the tone and gentleness of his deep voice had lulled her to sleep. ‘But why is he lying next to me?’ she thought. They had known each other for a few years and there was definitely a sexual tension between the two, but they were just friends. He had taught her how to smoke a cigar; she had introduced him to the Blues.
Fully awake now it begins to register. Marc is lying next to her, his pants unbuttoned and the zipper pulled partway down. Bill is standing in the doorway blushing. “Umm, sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt anything” Bill stammers as he makes a hasty retreat.
“Argh, Marc!” she growls at him. “What are you trying to do? It’s not funny. Bill thinks we are having an affair now.” She smacks his arm in disgust.
“Would that be so bad?”, Marc says playfully.
“Your incorrigible!”
Marc gets up from the bed, pants still partially undone, and plops himself in a chair. “You don’t find me the least bit attractive?” Marc asked with an impish grin.
“I didn’t say that!” she said getting flustered
“Prove it”
And there it was, the challenge. He knew how to provoke her. Knew she couldn’t resist.
She slowly walked over to him, standing between his legs she bent at the waist, putting her hands on either side of the chair, in an almost perfect 90 degree angle. She kissed his forehead, then his nose. When he tried to move his arms to grab her, she restrained him. Finding this an interesting game, he resolved to let her take the lead. Sensing him relax, she continued. Slowly she unbuttoned his shirt, pulling it open to reveal his muscular chest and stomach. She smiled an ever so wicked, little smile.
